Zakat calculator

Calculate your zakat

One question at a time. Every rule comes from Bahar-e-Shariat, Fatawa Razawiyya and Darul Ifta Ahle Sunnat, with its reference beside it.

Today's gold and silver rates

These are international rates converted to rupees. Your local sarafa (jeweller) rate will differ, so the calculator asks for today's local jeweller BUYING rate — what a jeweller would pay you — and only uses these figures to pre-fill it.

How this calculator works

  • Zakat is 2.5% of your net zakatable wealth once it reaches the nisab and a full Islamic (lunar) year has passed over it.
  • If gold is all you have, the nisab is 7.5 tola (87.48 g) by weight. If you have anything else zakatable with it, everything is added up and compared with the value of 52.5 tola (612.36 g) of silver.
  • Your home, car, clothes, furniture and other things you use are not zakatable. Debts you owe now are subtracted; deferred mehr is not.
  • Anything the sources do not settle — such as shares or crypto — is not calculated. The result tells you to confirm it with Darul Ifta Ahle Sunnat.
