Privacy policy

Your account: email address, display name, and either a securely hashed password or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google. A profile picture if you upload one.

Your chats: the questions you ask, the answers, and the sources each answer cites, so you can return to them.

Usage: how much you used the assistant each day, to apply the free daily limit.

To write an answer, your question, the recent turns of the conversation and the retrieved source passages are sent to an AI model provider (Google Gemini, and depending on configuration OpenRouter or Groq). The search query and passages may also be sent to Cohere to rank the passages.

Emails (verification, password reset) are sent through Resend. Profile pictures are stored on Amazon S3. The site runs on Vercel, with a managed PostgreSQL database. Sign-in with Google shares your name and email address with us.

Short-lived records of your IP address and email are kept for up to an hour to limit repeated sign-in attempts.

Service logs (with your IP address and account ID) are kept to run and fix the service, and short excerpts of questions and answers may be logged to check answer quality. These logs are held by our logging providers.

If you create a share link for a chat, anyone with the link can read that chat until you turn sharing off. Shared chats are kept out of search engines.

We use a sign-in cookie (30 days) and a cookie that remembers your language. Your browser also stores whether you dismissed the install prompt and, briefly, a question you chose to ask before signing in. There are no advertising or analytics trackers.

Chats are kept until you delete them. When you delete your account it is deactivated immediately; signing in again within 30 days restores it, and after that it is permanently deleted together with its chats.

You can delete any chat, stop sharing a chat, and delete your account from your settings.

If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated.
