Fitrana — Sadaqat-ul-Fitr (Fitrana)
These sources explain who must give sadaqat-ul-fitr and when. Bahar-e-Shariat cites a narration that the Prophet ﷺ sent a man to announce in the streets of Makkah that sadaqah al-fitr is wajib, and Anwaar ul Hadees has headings on it being wajib on every Muslim and on its amount. Important Rulings of Fitrah states that it is wajib on every Muslim man and woman who owns a nisab free of basic necessities. A fatwa explains that it can be paid before Eid and even before Ramadan.
